“I have nothing but praise for the staff at A&E Worcester when my brother had a fall from a ladder and badly injured his ankle, requiring major surgery and a 2 week stay in the TAU. The staff in A&E were caring and compasionate and he was seen, x-rayed and scheduled for theatre very quickly. I work at WRH but not in a clinical role and I have always thought the staff were dedicated to their craft but to see it first hand as I did on that day made me realise what special people they are and we should all be very grateful that in our hour of need they are there to pick up the pieces. To watch professionals at work is very humbling and I for one wish to pass on my very grateful thanks to all the teams involved in his care for being there to patch him up.”
This is all the more welcome given the huge pressures that A&E have faced in the past few weeks. Fantastic news. Do keep your stories coming in- with via the addresses on CONTACT ME or by commenting on the blog.
Re: My lovely mom Beryl Price
I would love to thank all the staff on Laurel 3 for the excellent care they gave my lovely mom Beryl Price and us as a family whilst she was dying. They truly are angels, and this is what caring is all about. She could not have been on a better ward, and the standard of care from nurses, doctors, admin & domestics was second to none. We as a family felt cared for. Me, dad and my sister Nicky never left my mom’s side for 10 days and 10 nights, and the staff never moaned at us for being there, in fact we felt part of the Laurel 3 family!! Nothing was too much trouble, and they carried out care with the highest standard, dignity and compassion.
My mom loved all the staff on the ward and so do we as a family. Glenis Adams has a group of staff on Laurel 3 to be very proud of, and they are a credit to her.
David, I do have to mention you as well as the care & support you gave us helped us through the most heart breaking period of our lives, you visited us a couple of times a day whilst on Laurel 3, you truly are a special man.
If there was an award for the most caring, kind, compassionate, dignified and dedicated ward then Laurel 3 deserve it. As a nurse myself, I would like to thank all the staff on Laurel 3 & you David from the bottom of my heart for what you all did for my lovely mom, I felt so scared about mom passing away, but the hugs, kind words and compassion shown to me made it feel like I was not alone, so thank you again from the bottom of my heart. I truly mean this, you are an inspiration to what nursing is all about.
With all my love
